Commission approves proclamation for Wade Coleman, authorizes tractor purchase and adds bank signer; tables garbage rate increase

At its May 6 meeting the commission voted unanimously on a set of administrative items: a proclamation honoring the late Milton “Wade” Coleman; a procurement decision to purchase a 2023 New Holland Workmaster 95 (quoted at $40,681) from Carson Brothers using TSPLOST funds; and a resolution adding County Manager Thomas Weaver as an authorized signer on the county's Ozark Bank accounts.
Commissioner Timothy Biddle moved to approve the proclamation for Milton "Wade" Coleman and Commissioner Gerald Douglas seconded; the vote was unanimous. Commissioner Biddle moved to accept the lower Carson Brothers quote for the batwing tractor and Commissioner Douglas seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The commission also considered a proposed garbage rate increase but voted to table that item "until we do further research on the cost to see how much it would be to bring garbage back in house," Commissioner Jason Frost said; Commissioner Damon Hoyte seconded the tabling motion and the vote was unanimous.
The commission entered an executive session at 9:35 a.m. for matters allowed under Georgia law and reconvened at 10:23 a.m.; a subsequent affidavit records that the closed session addressed legal counsel consultation, confidential tax matters, property negotiations and personnel issues.
