JROTC requests flag-retirement box at Veterans Park; Navy Band to perform at Soddy-Daisy High

Joshua Light, Soddy-Daisy High School band director, announced that the U.S. Navy Band from Washington, D.C., will perform at the high school on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. He said tickets are free but required for admittance and are available at SDHSband.org, WRCB's website, or the U.S. Navy Band website; 1,500 tickets are available.
City Manager Johnson and Public Works Director Steve Grant also updated the board on winter operations: Johnson said salting is ineffective when temperatures are 20 degrees and under and that garbage pickup was running behind because of the inclement weather; Grant said crews were operating two trucks to catch up.
