Residents press council over Hillcrest/Sandtrap lot; town receives Just Serve plaque and FFA recognition

Stan Longwell thanked the council and said he appreciated the opportunity to speak; he raised concerns about a lot at Hillcrest and Sandtrap, saying complaints have been ignored and warning the site would impact property values. Angie Daniel, addressing the same lot, said the site "looks industrial right now and looks terrible," said an Oct. 1 email from a resident had not received a response, and cited increased foot, bicycle and motorized traffic as a pressing issue. The speakers asked the council to listen to residents' pleas and consider relocating equipment storage further from homes; one speaker said they would be willing to pay extra taxes to do so.
Jack Babb reported on Snowflake High School FFA students' participation at the Navajo County Fair and thanked supporters of the Jr. livestock committee. Tamra Stepp and Ryan Stuart presented the town with a Just Serve City plaque and community-service items, saying volunteer service unites people and benefits those in need.
Councilmembers did not take immediate action during public comment but heard concerns and acknowledgments from residents and community groups.
