Franklin County commissioners on April 1 handled several administrative items in a single vote block, approving a conditional award for courthouse electrical work, permitting use of county property for a community festival and agreeing to host a statewide association meeting.
Bids for the courthouse electrical project were opened (IEC $27,249; Adrenaline Electric $26,000) and the board moved to accept the lowest bidder provided the firm met criteria set by the County Administrator. Commissioners also approved a request from Susan Terese to use the employee parking lot for Summerfest vendors on July 26, 2025, with vendor setup allowed after hours on July 25.
Andre Cushing, president of the Maine County Commissioners Association (MCCA), requested the July meeting be held at Franklin County’s Emergency Operations Center; the board approved the request. The county also agreed to act as fiscal agent for the Sandy River Association’s spring forums and to pay Mt. Blue T.V. to film those events.
All motions in this administrative package passed unanimously or by recorded majorities as noted in the minutes.
