Lincoln County commissioners approve consent agenda, grant liquor license and sponsor CDBG application

The Board of Lincoln County Commissioners met Sept. 20 and approved routine business items, a retail liquor license and a county sponsorship for a Community Development Block Grant application.
Chairman King called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Commissioner Harmon moved to approve the consent agenda — which included minutes of Sept. 6-7, 2022, orders adjusting the assessment roll and approval of vouchers — and the motion was adopted.
During a public hearing on a retail off-premise liquor license, County Clerk April Brunski presented the application for B&G’s Outdoor Quikstop, LLC at 1685 Highway 26 in Alpine and said the application is for a full retail, off-premise (package store) license. Applicant Lorry Stufflebeam was available for questions; no public comments were received. Following the hearing, the commissioners approved the license on a motion from Commissioner Hansen.
Commissioner Hansen also moved that Lincoln County sponsor an application for a Community Development Block Grant on behalf of the South Lincoln Hospital District; the board adopted that motion. Grant coordinator Mary Crosby summarized the scope of potential CDBG work and mentioned SMART Grant opportunities for rural technology and transportation integration. Crosby also noted the county’s administrative role and timelines for sponsorship.
Other routine updates included reports from county commissioners on local projects, a presentation from Road & Bridge Superintendent Matt McCloud on services provided to cemetery districts and a financial update from County Treasurer Jerry Greenfield on the August 2022 financial statement and Corona Recovery Funds reporting. Chairman King recessed the meeting at 1:37 p.m. and resumed regular session at 1:54 p.m.; the meeting adjourned at 2:28 p.m.
Next steps: the hospital district’s letters of intent and grant application materials will proceed under the county sponsorship already agreed to by the board; further legal review and paperwork will follow as required by county procedure.
