Chairman Gene Wolf called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and commissioners moved quickly through consent items. The board approved an updated two-year Landfill Engineering Service Agreement presented by Sherwin Wanner of Houston Engineering after the county
ttorney reviewed the contract. Landfill Director Candy Strand was present for the discussion. Commissioner Casey Voigt moved to approve the agreement; Commissioner Mark Pierce seconded and all voted aye.
The commission also approved the July Recorder —oard NDRIN refund revenues of $5,870.50 and authorized the purchase of memorial highway signs for Highway 200 at a cost of $1,000. The board placed a J2 Studios estimate and floor plan on a future agenda for further review.
At about 11:00 a.m. Commissioner Casey Voigt recused himself from an easement discussion in which he was the requestor. The commission accepted an easement offer of $9,000 for an approximately one-half mile road easement; Commissioner Mark Pierce moved to accept the offer, Commissioner Rick Bauman seconded and the remaining commissioners voted to approve it.
During the meeting the board reviewed vouchers; after resuming review commissioners approved the West River Equipment bill for $11,000 and then approved the full slate of bills presented. The approved vouchers list included a range of vendors and totaled $276,785.06.

The commission set the Mercer County 2026 Final Budget Hearing for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025. The meeting adjourned at 11:16 a.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 3, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Mercer County Government Center boardroom in Stanton, North Dakota.
