Mercer County commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 6 to approve repairs to Highway Department dump truck No. 125 after amending a motion to remove a specified $29,000 cost figure.
Chairman Gene Wolf called a special meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. by conference call to address the needed repairs. Commissioners Rick Bauman, Mark Pierce, Jamee Folk and Casey Voigt participated, along with Auditor Carmen Reed and Highway Assistant Supervisor Dennis Olheiser; Dan Arens of the Hazen Star was noted as absent.
Commissioner Jamee Folk moved to approve the repairs and specified a cost of $29,000; Commissioner Casey Voigt seconded. Folk then moved to amend the motion to remove the phrase 'for a cost of $29,000,' and Voigt seconded the amendment. The commission adopted the amendment and then voted to approve the repairs as amended. The minutes record that 'all voted aye' on both the amendment and the final motion; the final vote left the approval without a specified dollar amount in the motion.
