The Mercer County Commission on Nov. 19 approved a $15,000 contribution from the county’s Parks-In-Lieu fund to support construction of a pavilion at Golden Valley City Park.
Golden Valley City Council member Kyle Lukenbach requested $17,500 to help build the pavilion; Commissioner Casey Voigt moved to approve $15,000 from the Parks-In-Lieu fund with half to be paid now and the remaining balance disbursed after the project is completed. Commissioner Mark Pierce seconded the motion, which the minutes record as passing by unanimous voice vote.
The minutes do not record additional project specifications, a construction timeline, or other funding commitments. The county’s approval leaves the city responsible for completing the project and providing any required documentation to trigger the final disbursement.
