Grove City Council unanimously approves financing for fire tanker, one-time salary adjustment and notice of Code supplement

The Grove City Council on Nov. 4 unanimously approved financing for a new fire tanker truck and several routine items, adopting a resolution to publish 2025 Supplement No. S-11 to the City of Grove’s Code of Ordinances.
Councilmembers voted 4-0 to accept the lowest and best financing bid from Bank of Grand Lake — 3.6% interest for 60 months — to fund the Grove Fire Department’s new tanker. The motion to approve the financing was made by Councilmember Ivan Devitt and seconded by Councilmember Marty Dyer.
The council also approved the minutes from its Oct. 21 regular meeting and the Purchase Order Register, each by unanimous vote. Councilmember Devitt moved both motions; Andy Stewart seconded the minutes motion and Stewart seconded the purchase-order motion.
Elected officials approved a one-time salary adjustment for employees who are not eligible for longevity pay. The motion was made by Devitt and seconded by Dyer and passed 4-0. The meeting record does not specify the dollar amounts or the number of employees affected.
Councilmembers voted to adopt a resolution providing public notice of 2025 Supplement No. S-11 to the City of Grove’s Code of Ordinances; the motion, again moved by Devitt and seconded by Dyer, carried unanimously. The text of the supplement and its effective date were not specified in the meeting minutes.
In staff reports, City Manager Darren Cook said the city plans a groundbreaking for the new City Park on Jan. 9, 2026, and noted a City Christmas Luncheon scheduled for Dec. 18, 2025. Convention and tourism staff (Malone) spoke about a series of Christmas Wonderland activities planned for the season.
There were no public comments, no ward reports, and the council adjourned at 4:56 PM after a unanimous motion to adjourn.
