Madison County approves vaccine call-center contract and leases Gateway Convention Center for clinics

Madison County’s Board on April 21 approved two health-department contracts intended to support local COVID‑19 vaccination efforts.
The board authorized a not-to-exceed $80,000 contract with Answer Midwest, Inc., to operate a vaccine call line and intake center for the Madison County Health Department. The contract was presented by the Health Department Committee and recommended for approval to assist scheduling and outreach.
In addition, the board approved a $66,769 lease with the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville to host vaccination clinic dates through May 31, 2021. County officials said the lease covers the facility rental for scheduled clinic dates and related on-site logistics.
Both the call center contract and the clinic lease will be paid from the health department’s FY2021 funds. Committee sponsors said the contracts were time-limited and intended to support increased throughput for vaccine appointments during this phase of the county campaign.
