Madison County approves janitorial, internet and IT contracts, and other service purchases

Madison County Board members approved several procurement and contract actions at the Dec. 21 meeting, including facility janitorial services, upgrades to internet capacity for county IT systems and year‑long hosting and maintenance agreements.

Central Services recommended renewal of the county’s janitorial contract (Option Year 1) with CR Systems at a contract price of $296,431.48 to cover designated county facilities. The Information Technology Department presented a revised dedicated internet services agreement with AT&T (to increase contracted speed to 1 Gbps for the remaining 29 months of a prior contract) at a total revised contract price noted in committee materials as $92,538.80; the board approved awarding and executing the revised agreement.

The board also approved a new 36‑month 1Gbps fiber services agreement with Charter Communications (total: $62,964.00) and a one‑year Airlock Digital application and cloud hosting subscription procured through Insight Public Sector (total: $51,222.48). Separately, payments for election‑related maintenance and services were approved, including one year of VEMACS support (VOTEC) and M100 precinct tabulator maintenance and moving costs for the fall 2022 election; the board approved these as budgeted election expenditures.

Procurement approvals were recorded by roll call; the County Clerk’s office and IT department will manage vendor execution and invoice processing. Committee materials identify funding sources: FY2023 Facilities Management funds, Information Technology funds (reimbursed to offices), and election funds for the Clerk’s expenses.
