Greenville awards several small contracts and accepts community grants totaling $8,000

The Greenville City Council on May 7 approved multiple procurement awards and accepted two community foundation grants. The council awarded the purchase of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and ancillary equipment to Unmanned Vehicle Technologies, LLC (Fayetteville, Arkansas) for up to $15,044.79. It also awarded the purchase and installation of a garage door for the Greenville Area Recreation and Community Center to Discount Door, LLC (Comstock Park, Michigan) for up to $1,635.00 and contracted JZ Electric, LLC (Belding, Michigan) to re-lamp two softball fields at Alan G. Davis Park for up to $8,350.00. All awards were unanimously adopted.
Council also authorized acceptance of a $2,000 grant from the Greenville Area Community Foundation to support the Renaissance Faire and accepted a separate $6,000 grant from the Greenville Area Community Foundation for boardwalk maintenance and brush clearing. The council authorized the City Manager to sign on the city’s behalf for the grants.
The council approved an amendment to the Standard Lighting Contract with Consumers Energy to add lights at Greenville West Drive/Meijer Drive and Greenville West Drive/Grosvenor Drive and authorized the City Manager and City Clerk to sign the authorization for change. The lighting contract amendment was adopted by the recorded vote of six Ayes and one absent.
