The Ludington Area Schools Board on Feb. 16 approved two construction-related contracts for OJ DeJonge Middle School. The board awarded a $423,100 contract to J. Stevens for roof repairs; the minutes state the project will be paid from sinking fund revenue. The board also approved a $86,145.50 contract with Floor Care Concepts to replace the auxiliary ("north") gym floor; the minutes state this will be paid from 2022 Capital Projects (series II) funds. Both motions passed by unanimous votes.
The roof-repair motion was made by Mike Nagle and supported by Dr. Bret Autrey; the gym-floor motion was made by Steve Carlson and supported by Mike Winczewski. Roll-call votes for both motions were recorded as ayes: Reed, Autrey, Carlson, Lowman, Nagle, Neushwander and Winczewski; nayes: none.
