The Ludington Area Schools Board of Education adopted the district’s general operating fund budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, and approved a final budget amendment for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025 after a public hearing on June 16, 2025.
Laura Jacobs presented the proposed 2025–26 general operating fund budget and a final amendment for 2024–25 during the public hearing. No members of the public spoke during citizen participation. Board President Dr. Bret Autrey called the hearing; a motion by Mike Nagle, supported by Alan Neushwander, adjourned the public hearing at 6:10 p.m. The motion to adjourn carried on a 5–0 vote (Autrey, Nagle, Lowman, Neushwander, Winczewski).
On separate motions later in the meeting, the board approved the Final Budget Amendment for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025 (motion by Alan Neushwander, supported by Mike Nagle) and then approved the Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026 (motion by Mike Nagle, supported by Sarah Lowman). Both motions carried by unanimous 5–0 votes.
The approved 2025–26 budget is recorded in the minutes as the district’s general operating fund for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The board took those votes during its regular meeting after the public hearing concluded.
