KITTITAS COUNTY โ County Public Works staff asked the Board of County Commissioners on April 28 to authorize draft language that would extend a revocable license for the proposed Beech Road extension by one year, to June 2026.
Josh Fredrickson told the board that a two-year revocable license granted in 2023 to Pooya Roohani did not explicitly require the developer to perform all road improvements and that Beech Road must cross a narrow, roughly 10-foot parcel on the southern boundary of airport property. Fredrickson said the proposed addendum would clarify both points and asked for direction on preparing the documents.
The commissioners directed staff to prepare enabling documents for the addendum so the board may consider the change at a future meeting. The discussion did not include a vote or a finalized agreement; commissioners recorded no formal motion or roll-call tally in the session minutes.
Why it matters: The addendum would extend the period during which the temporary license is in effect and explicitly assign responsibilities for road construction and boundary crossing. That clarification affects who is financially and operationally responsible for completing the Beech Road extension work and could influence permitting or coordination with airport property managers.
Next steps: Staff will prepare the addendum language and related materials for board consideration at a subsequent meeting. No date for further consideration was provided in the study session minutes.
