Drainage trustees approve 2026 spraying, appoint commissioners for Oliver Lake reclassification

When the Monona County Board recessed to act as Drainage Trustees on Feb. 17, trustees approved spraying estimates for 2026 provided by B&W Control Specialists, Inc., following a presentation by Nathanial Reffer. Trustee Bo Fox moved to approve the estimates; Trustee Vincent Phillips seconded the motion and it carried with all trustees voting aye. The estimates are on file in the drainage office.
Trustees also appointed three commissioners for the Oliver Lake Lateral 1 reclassification: Amanda Goodenow (ISG), Joel Bubke and Adam Davis. Supervisor Vincent Phillips moved the appointments; Supervisor Tom Brouillette seconded the motion. Commissioners will be paid $75 for a half day and $150 for a full day, plus mileage. The motion carried unanimously.
Trustees noted receipt of the State of Iowa portion of FEMA Event 4796 for Haitz Lateral 2—check #1000625307 for $452.00—as an informational item. No further action was taken on the FEMA payment at the meeting.
The Drainage Trustees’ actions were taken during a recess of the Board of Supervisors; the board later reconvened its regular session.
