The Edmond Planning Commission on March 3 approved multiple development items on consent or after brief presentations, and continued one item to the April meeting.
Chair opened the meeting and the commission approved the general consent agenda by a 5-0 vote. The commission then considered multiple agenda items, most of which were approved unanimously.
The commission voted 5-0 to continue agenda item 4a (case SP24-00018), a site-plan application for the Edmond Newhall Storage Building at 913 South Broadway, to the April 7, 2026 planning commission meeting because the applicant was not present and requested a continuance.
The commission approved a lot split (case DD24-00007) for 330 West 1st Street, a roughly 7,000-square-foot parcel at the southeast corner of 1st and Walnut, 4-0; staff recommended approval and there were no public comments.
A site-plan extension for Life Church Central Campus parking (case SP20316), initially approved in November 2023 and with no changes proposed in the extension request, was approved 5-0 on staff recommendation.
The commission approved a zoning-map amendment (case Z25-31) to change 208 East 5th Street from single-family (A) to two-family (B2) to eliminate a nonconformity; staff described the lot as about 7,500 square feet, recommended approval, and the commission approved the measure 5-0.
The commission also approved a site plan for the Edmond Police training facility (case SP24-00017) at 7707 East Danforth Road for two proposed buildings (about 12,400 sq ft and 300 sq ft); staff recommended approval and the commission voted 5-0 to approve.
The largest discussion of the evening centered on the Gardenia Apartments site plan (case SP26-3), which the commission approved with eight negotiated neighborhood conditions; that action and the conditions are reported separately.
Following action items, the commission opened but received no non-agenda citizen comments, heard an announcement about upcoming Unified Development Code open houses on March 11 at City Hall, and adjourned the meeting.
Recorded votes and case numbers will be transmitted to the Edmond City Council per standard practice for items requiring council action.
