City staff presented the proposed Henderson Pavement Overlay Project list for 2020, explaining the list had been reviewed in a March work session and rebalanced after comments from council members to distribute streets across wards and balance costs. City Engineer Clark Thomas and City Manager Edward T. Blackmon told council that the Powell Bill will fund the work.
Council Member Marion B. Williams questioned ward placement of streets and Council Member Fearldine A. Simmons suggested addressing ward boundaries at a future time; council agreed to include Orange Street on the list. Council approved Resolution 20-23 to adopt the resurfacing project list by recorded voice vote.
City staff will proceed with scheduling and contracting steps consistent with the approved list and Powell Bill funding.
