Councilperson Smiley presents Canterbury village plan to add 56 dwelling units in New Castle County

At the New Castle County Land Use Committee meeting on February 3, Councilperson Smiley described a proposed expansion of the Plan of Village at Canterbury in Taylor Town Section C that would add housing to an existing apartment complex.

"I've had no calls about this at all," Councilperson Smiley said, summarizing the outreach and hearing history. He told the committee that no one appeared at the planning board meeting to contest the proposal and described the site history: when the complex was built, he said, DelDOT had appropriated a portion of the property for a potential future road that was never constructed and that parcel has since been returned to the property. "So now we're gonna build on it and add some additional apartments and housing," he said.
