Henderson City Council approved a multi-item consent agenda on Oct. 12, 2020, that included grant acceptance, a police K‑9 transfer, board appointments and tax releases.
The council accepted a U.S. Department of Justice 2020 Bureau of Justice Assistance (JAG) award that will allow purchase of two Watchguard in‑car video camera systems at a city cost of $10,523 and a county share of $7,015 per the memorandum of understanding between the city and county. The council also approved transfer of ownership of retired K‑9 'Deli' to Sgt. Jonathan Thomas for the sum of $1.00, in accordance with N.C.G.S. 160A‑266(b); the dog was retired from active duty because of an eye disorder. Several citizen appointments to boards and commissions were confirmed, and the finance director presented tax releases and refunds for August 2020 totaling $26,968.89.
The Consent Agenda was approved in one motion and carried unanimously (absent Council Member Coffey).
