Hancock County supervisors approve $38,175.67 pay estimate for courthouse repairs and adopt corrected list of county depositories

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors, meeting in adjourned session Jan. 29, 2024, in Garner, approved a $38,175.67 pay estimate for courthouse repairs and adopted a corrected resolution naming the county’s depositories under state law.
Supervisor Florence (Sis) Greiman moved to approve pay estimate no. 7 for the East Entrance Vestibule and Northwest Roof Repair project for $38,175.67, naming Dean Snyder Construction Co. as the contractor; Supervisor Gary Rayhons seconded the motion, which carried unanimously among those present. The board also read and approved the minutes of the Jan. 23, 2024 meeting.
The board then approved Corrected Resolution No. 2024-008, which lists the financial institutions authorized as Hancock County depositories and the maximum balances the county treasurer is allowed to deposit with each institution in conformance with Iowa Code Chapter 12C. The resolution names Reliance State Bank (Garner) with a maximum of $19,000,000 and several regional banks, including Clear Lake Bank & Trust (Garner), First State Bank (Britt), Farmers Trust & Savings (Buffalo Center), Iowa State Bank (Corwith), First Citizens National Bank (Kanawha), NSB (Titonka), and lists Wells Fargo (Des Moines) as previously noted with no balance under the prior resolution.
The minutes state the remainder of the meeting was devoted to reviewing fiscal 2024–2025 budget submissions. A motion to adjourn at 10:50 a.m. was made by Supervisor Greiman, carried with all present voting “Aye.” The board is scheduled to meet again Feb. 5, 2024. The minutes were attested by Michelle K. Eisenman, Auditor, and signed by Gary Rayhons, Chair.
