The Butler County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Feb. 17 to approve Resolution #19-2026, adopting the final plat for “BLP East Addition,” a 146.205-acre subdivision in the Butler County Logistics Park Urban Renewal Area.
Planning and Zoning Administrator Misty Kofron told the board the Planning & Zoning Commission reviewed the final subdivision plat at its Feb. 12 meeting and recommended approval after finding no public concerns and receiving no objections from the county engineer. Jeff Kolb, who attended the meeting, said the land will be subdivided as future projects are developed within the logistics park.
The legal description attached to the resolution describes the parcel in the southwest quarter of Section 34, Township 92 North, Range 15 West of the 5th P.M., Butler County, Iowa, and notes the plat contains 146.205 acres, including 8.748 acres of road or street right-of-way. The final plat divides the property into a 24-acre parcel to be developed immediately and a 122-acre parcel to be developed in phases as projects arise. The resolution cites recorded surveys and plats on file with the Butler County Recorder’s Office as the basis for the legal description.
Supervisor Rusty Eddy moved to adopt the resolution; Supervisor Wayne Dralle seconded the motion, and the board approved the measure. The resolution states it takes effect immediately.
Because the plat affects property within the Butler County Logistics Park Urban Renewal Area, approval clears a procedural step for subdivision and future project-level development but does not itself authorize specific construction or funding for particular projects. Planning and zoning documentation and recorded surveys are referenced in the resolution and will remain on record at the county recorder’s office.
The board approved the resolution during its regular session; no formal dissent was recorded. The county will proceed with recording and administrative steps necessary to implement the plat approval.
