Nelson County Commission approves purchases, removes mistaken assessment and appoints sheriff to regional board

The board voted to purchase three desktop computers for the Clerk of Court/Recorder’s office after staff reported the existing machines do not support a new court program and are not compatible with Windows 11. The vote to approve the quote was moved by Commissioner Aaron Mork and seconded by Commissioner Mike Haugland; a roll-call vote was recorded as unanimous.
In a separate motion, the commission removed special assessments mistakenly placed on parcel 20-0000-05859-000 by the Water Board. Commissioner Cameron Swenson moved the measure, Commissioner Steve Forde seconded it, and the motion passed.
Angela Herda asked that Sheriff Kurt Schwind be appointed to the Coordinated Regional Interoperability Board (CRIB); the commission approved the appointment (motion by Commissioner Mork, second by Commissioner Forde). Finally, the commission voted to pay all bills listed for the second meeting of the month on a unanimous roll-call vote.
