Nelson County commissioners approve sheriff vehicle camera lease, server warranty extension and building permit

Nelson County Chairman Cody Johnson and the county commissioners on July 7 approved a set of routine administrative measures, including a five-year lease for an in-car camera and license-plate reader for a sheriff's vehicle and a one-year extension of the county server warranty.
Commissioner Aaron Mork moved to approve the lease for the in-car camera and license-plate reader, and Commissioner Steve Forde seconded; the commission voted unanimously to approve the $3,548.00 five-year lease. Nelson County Deputy Madche had joined earlier to provide a Sheriff Department update; the minutes record no further action tied to that update.
Commissioner Steve Forde moved to extend the county server warranty for one year at a cost of $1,497.52, seconded by Commissioner Cameron Swenson; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote. Auditor Nathan Parks had presented the NRG quote for the server warranty before the vote.
The commission also approved a building permit for Tanner Brueckner after a motion from Commissioner Cameron Swenson and a second from Commissioner Mike Haugland; that motion passed unanimously. Separately, Commissioner Cameron Swenson moved, and Commissioner Aaron Mork seconded, to approve payment of all bills to be listed at the commission's second meeting of the month; that motion also passed unanimously.
During the meeting Auditor Parks introduced a proposed Nelson County pay scale and commissioners made recommendations; further discussion was scheduled for the commission's second July meeting. Road and Bridge matters were presented for consideration and set to be discussed again at the commission's second July meeting.
Discussion about improvements to the Commission Room resulted in a directive to Auditor Parks to seek screens for displaying meeting information and tablets for commissioners. Portfolio updates were given by Commissioners Steve Forde and Aaron Mork and by Chairman Cody Johnson, including reports on training and courthouse security committee meetings.
There were no public comments. The meeting was adjourned following a unanimous motion to do so. The minutes list Nathan Parks as Nelson County Auditor and Cody Johnson as chairman.
