Nelson County approves Engel’s Point reimbursement, logs $12,514.51 state snow-removal payment; highway to move to four-day week

Nelson County commissioners on June 20 approved a funding reimbursement request of $99,862.90 for the Engel’s Point road and noted a separate $12,514.51 payment from the state for early-winter snow removal. Nathan Parks presented the Engel’s Point reimbursement request, and the board approved and signed the request on a unanimous roll call vote after a motion by Commissioner Steve Forde and a second from Commissioner Cameron Swenson.
Seth Hamre reported that the county received $12,514.51 from the state covering emergency snow removal from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31; that payment was recorded during the Road and Bridge update. Commissioner Aaron Mork said he and Hamre met with highway management and announced that, beginning July 1, the Highway Department will move to a four-day work week.
The Engel’s Point reimbursement will be paid to Garrison Diversion as presented. County minutes show the board conducted a roll call vote to approve the reimbursement request; the motion carried unanimously.
