Councilmember William Taylor moved to approve the consent agenda, including minutes of the April 4, 2022 meeting and work session; Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council approved payables totaling $174,142.53 after Mayor Wills asked for their approval. Councilmember Mike Phillips moved to approve the payables; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
Under resolutions, the council unanimously approved Resolution 0422-07 to permit DOLGENCORP, LLC d/b/a Dollar General Store 23430 at Hand Avenue to hold an off-premises retail beer license (050) and an off-premises retail wine license (070). Councilmember Pete Sellers moved the motion and Councilmember Mike Phillips seconded.
Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved to approve Resolution 0422-08 granting Girl Scout Troop 8345 a rental fee waiver for Rex Courtyard on April 25, 2022; Councilmember William Taylor seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council confirmed two non-elected appointments under Resolution 0422-09, approving Rita Diedtrich as City Clerk and Liana Barnett as Human Resources Director; Councilmember Matt Franklin moved and Councilmember Pete Sellers seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
Councilmember Pete Sellers moved to approve Resolution 0422-10, a rental fee waiver for Men of the Coalition's May Day event at Ulmer Park on May 7, 2022; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded. The motion carried with ayes from Mayor Wills, Sellers, Phillips and Clemmons; Councilmember William Taylor abstained.
The council also discussed attendance at the Alabama League of Municipalities convention and selected Councilmember Mike Phillips as the voting delegate and Councilmember Pete Sellers as the first alternate voting delegate for the group's annual meeting.
With no further business, Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved to adjourn; Councilmember William Taylor seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The minutes were signed by Mayor Robert A.
