The Davis County Commission unanimously approved a package of health-related items on Feb. 17, including a small donation to senior services, contract amendments to state public-health agreements, and a venue rental for an upcoming symposium.
Brian Hatch, director of Health Senior and Community Services, presented four items: a $700 donation agreement from the Bountiful Police Department Employee Association to Davis County Aging Services to support the local senior center; Amendment #6 to Contract #2023-0760 with the Utah Department of Health & Human Services adding $4,000 for community and clinical intervention diabetes education programs; Amendment #7 to Contract #2024-0316 with the Utah Department of Health & Human Services adding $14,449 in federal funds for the county’s measles response; and a rental agreement with Davis Technical College for the Feb. 5, 2027 Resilience Symposium, with the college waiving the rental fee.
Commissioner Lorene Kamalu moved to approve the grouped items; Bob Stevenson seconded, and all present voted aye.
The measures are intended to fund ongoing community health programming and immediate immunization efforts; Hatch described the diabetes and immunization amendments as receivable federal/state funds to support specific public-health services. The waived rental fee reduces the county’s cost for hosting the Resilience Symposium in early 2027.
