Moody City Council unanimously approves police chief travel and $5,144 in budgeted IT replacements

Council Member Matt Morris moved to approve the chief's attendance; Council Member Linda Crowe seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Andrew Borham, administrative IT staff, presented a request to replace two Park and Recreation laptops for $2,744.08 and three desktop computers (for revenue administration, the mayor's office and the court clerk) at $800.00 each, for a total of $5,144.08. Vendors listed were Dell Tech and Lenovo; the purchase was described as part of the 2024–2025 Citywide five-year IT Capital Computer Plan (Admin Capital 01-512-9900). Council Member Nick Rutledge moved to approve the purchases; Council Member Ellis Key seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The council heard departmental reports for February 2025 from Park and Recreation (Mike Staggs), Police (Reece Smith), Fire (Larry Horton), Public Inspections (David Crowe), Public Works (Lee Drummonds), Library (Sara Roberts), Municipal Court (Tim Senft) and the Senior Center (Addie Duke). With no further business, Mayor Joe Lee moved to adjourn at 6:09 p.m.
