Moody council approves library roof repair, staff travel and other routine items

Moody — At its May 12, 2025 meeting, the Moody City Council unanimously approved several routine administrative and budgeted items.
The council agreed to move the May 26, 2025 meeting to May 27, 2025 at 6 p.m., with a pre-council meeting at 5:30 p.m. The council also approved sending Leighanna Huckabee to a Revenue Conference June 11–13, 2025, at a cost not to exceed $1,900; the expense is budgeted in account 01-512-1500.
Council members approved a contract with Davis Industries, Inc. to repair and replace the Moody Library roof for $29,990 to be paid from the Capital Account. The council authorized the Police Department to purchase ammunition and firearm training supplies from Gulf States for $2,500 (budgeted 01-513-2003) and approved a purchase of an event tent for the SRO Division not to exceed $1,000 (budgeted 01-513-4800). The Fire Department was authorized to purchase uniforms from Big Daddy Stiches for $5,407 (budgeted 01-514-4700). Park and Recreation was authorized to advertise and hire an athletic assistant to fill a vacancy.
All motions were approved unanimously; motions were moved and seconded by council members as recorded in the minutes. Mayor Joe Lee closed the meeting at 7:01 p.m.
