Lemon Grove board approves instructional materials, awards contracts and renews service agreements

The Lemon Grove School District Board of Education on Aug. 12 approved a package of routine but consequential operational items, including a resolution finding the district’s instructional materials sufficient for the coming year and multiple procurement and contract actions.
The board unanimously approved Board Resolution 2025-26-02 confirming the sufficiency of instructional materials after a public hearing. The resolution was moved by Dr. Javier Ayala and seconded by Yajaira Preciado.
Board members then approved awarding Underwriting Services RFP #2024-2025-10 to Stifel (motion by Yajaira Preciado, second Jasmin Smith) and awarded Bond and Disclosure Counsel Services RFP #2024-2025-11 to Jones Hall LLP (motion by Dr. Javier Ayala, second Dorinda Miller). Both motions carried with unanimous votes.
The board approved operational measures including expansion of the district’s Department of State Architect inspection services pool (motion by Jasmin Smith) and approval to piggyback San Bernardino City Unified School District Bid #22-17 for certain services and supplies (motion by Dr. Javier Ayala); both measures passed unanimously.
Members also approved Resolution 2025-26-01 to delegate authority (moved by Yajaira Preciado, second Jasmin Smith) and approved an agreement with Swing Education for supplemental staffing services (moved by Dr. Javier Ayala). The board approved contract renewals for Sea Change Therapy, LLC and The Institute for Effective Education, as well as a consent agenda covering minutes, personnel actions, warrants, gifts, contract ratifications, purchase orders and multiple change orders related to school construction and maintenance projects.
All of the above motions were carried during the Aug. 12 meeting by recorded roll calls shown on the agenda; no public speakers addressed the items during the meeting. The board adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
