The Lemon Grove School District Governing Board reported in open session Sept. 9 that it approved two settlement agreements during a prior closed session. The board said the agreements resolved salary disputes: one involving a certificated employee represented by the Lemon Grove Teachers Association and another involving a classified employee represented by the California School Employees Association.
Board action on each settlement was recorded as a motion and carried unanimously. Trustee Yajaira Preciado moved approval of the settlement involving the certificated employee and the Lemon Grove Teachers Association, and Trustee Antonio Davis seconded. Trustee Dorinda Miller moved approval of the settlement involving the classified employee and the California School Employees Association, and Trustee Jasmin Smith seconded. For both matters the transcript records the final resolution as carried with votes from Dr. Javier Ayala, Antonio Davis, Dorinda Miller, Yajaira Preciado and Jasmin Smith.
The agenda noted the closed-session items as public employee discipline/dismissal/release under Government Code 54957, subdivision (b)(1) and settlement matters under Government Code 54956.9. The transcript does not specify settlement amounts, employee names, or other terms of the agreements.
