Lemon Grove board approves 2024–25 School Plan after CAASPP presentations

The Lemon Grove Governing Board approved the 2024–2025 School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) at a special meeting on Dec. 10, 2024, following presentations of each school’s 2024 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) results.
District Executive Director of Educational Services Amy Fulinara and principals from the district’s schools presented CAASPP data and explained school-level results and priorities. Presenters named on the agenda included Veronica Johnson (Lemon Grove Academy Elementary School), Vanessa Ruiz (Lemon Grove Academy Middle School), Rosaland Turner (Monterey Heights STEAM Academy), Dalia Garcia (Interim Principal, Mount Vernon Elementary School), Torazzi Hayslett (San Altos Elementary School), Julie Jones (San Miguel Elementary School) and Yvonne Leon (Vista La Mesa Academy).
After the presentations, the board considered the districtwide SPSA for 2024–25. Board Member Cheryl Robertson moved to approve the plan; Jasmin Smith seconded. The motion carried with recorded yes votes from Dr. Javier Ayala, Dorinda Miller, Yajaira Preciado, Cheryl Robertson and Jasmin Smith.
Earlier in the meeting the board completed standard opening business, including establishing a quorum and approving the meeting agenda (motion by Dorinda Miller; second by Jasmin Smith). The record shows no public comments were made on agendized items. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
