Monterey Heights STEAM Academy Principal Rosaland Turner and Teacher Cali Bryan brought third-grade students to the Dec. 17 Board meeting to present a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) lab project. The students who participated were Joseph F., Christian B., Suria H., Julian B., Audrey M., Prezlei G. and Asami U.
The presentation invited the Board and the superintendent to engage with the STEAM activities; the agenda referenced a video of the student work. Separately, under Information/Discussion, trustees noted a future agenda item: a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway presentation from Lemon Grove Academy Middle.
The Board offered recognition to the Monterey Heights students and staff and recorded the Lemon Grove Academy Middle CTE presentation for a future meeting agenda.
