City Attorney John Cilley outlined a proposed purchase of four downtown parcels, including Parcel IDs 374013035858, 374013035834 and 374013035833 and an 18-by-90-foot strip currently subject to an easement. The seller, L. Macon Yount, LLC, indicated an asking price of $80,000. Cilley said the city would assume maintenance of the strip upon conveyance.
Council voted unanimously to approve the purchase for $80,000 and adopted a related budget ordinance amendment that adds $10,800 for closing costs and parking-lot upgrades, bringing the total amendment to $90,800.
Council authorized the city manager to execute documents necessary to complete the transaction. The parcels and accompanying resolution are on file with the city clerk.
