The McPherson County Board held its budget hearing on Sept. 12, 2018 and adopted the 2018–19 budget after a public hearing in which no patrons appeared. The board approved RESOLUTION #2018-10 reauthorizing petty cash funds, RESOLUTION #2018-11 allowing an additional 1% increase to the base amount for restricted funds authority (bringing the total restricted funds increase to 3.5%), and RESOLUTION #2018-12 adopting the county budget for fiscal year 2018/2019.
In a special hearing to set the final property tax request, the board adopted RESOLUTION #2018-13 setting the 2018/2019 property tax request at $750,040, a decrease from the prior year request of $832,210, and establishing a combined county tax rate of 0.252715. The minutes record supporting calculations for the tax requests and note that many subdivision levies and county levies were lower than the previous year.
Board members signed required budget and financial representation documents and set meeting schedules and follow-up administrative items. The board recorded its approval of these financial actions and the minutes provide line-item claims and vendor payments consistent with the adopted budget.
