McPherson County adopts 2019–20 budget, allows restricted-fund increase and sets property tax request

On Sept. 11 the McPherson County Board of Commissioners opened a public hearing on the proposed 2019–2020 budget and related tax request. The board unanimously approved Resolution #2019-15, allowing a 1% increase to the base amount of restricted funds authority, then adopted the proposed county budget by Resolution #2019-16. The board also approved Resolution #2019-17 to set the county’s property tax request at an amount different from the prior year, as permitted by state procedures. Earlier and later minutes record the related budget work sessions and review of departmental requests; a July 30 budget workshop and subsequent meetings informed the board’s revenue and expenditure assumptions.
