McPherson County hires Kenneth C. Bang as sheriff and names him emergency manager

After interviewing Kenneth C. (K.C.) Bang on Feb. 14, the McPherson County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to hire him as McPherson County Sheriff. Commissioners noted Bang’s credentials: he has been a certified law-enforcement officer with the State of Nebraska since 1984. The motion was made and seconded and passed with a unanimous vote.
At the April 10 meeting the board appointed Sheriff K.C. Bang as McPherson County Emergency Manager effective April 1, 2024, paying $1,600.00 per year for that duty. The board recorded the appointment and the effective date in the minutes and voted in favor.
Both actions were routine personnel matters recorded in the meeting proceedings and supported by unanimous votes. The county clerk and county attorney were present for administrative processing and to confirm statutory requirements for appointments.
