Personnel committee pre-files resolutions for DSS grant renewal, staffing and reclassifications

The Putnam County Personnel Committee pre-filed several resolutions at its March 11 meeting that will move forward to the Legislature for formal consideration.

Fiscal Manager Kristen Wunner of the Department of Social Services, Mental Health & Youth Bureau said the committee approved pre-filing a budgetary amendment (26A012) to adjust state-aid levels tied to a contract renewal with the Child Advocacy Center. "This is a grant award through the Office of Family and Children Services and is an annualized amount through 2030," Wunner said.

Wunner also described fund transfer 26T023 to provide a pay differential for the department’s Director of Eligibility position after a recent retirement. She said the transfer will allow the staff member now handling those duties to be properly compensated until the budget line is officially vacated.

Sheriff Brian Hess told the committee that Budgetary Transfer 26T044 corrects the budget classification of an administrative position that was listed under the BCI division but should be in the Civil division. "It is really in Civil; this corrects that listing," Hess said.

Parks Superintendent Chris Ruthven spoke in support of Fund Transfer 26T045, a reclassification moving a senior account clerk position to principal account clerk. "This employee is fantastic and this reclassification is well deserved," Ruthven said.

Each item was moved by Chairwoman Addonizio and seconded by Legislator Russo; with Legislator Sayegh absent, the motions passed unanimously among members present. The committee also noted accident and incident reports and recorded no other business before adjourning at 7:06 p.m. Minutes were submitted by Deputy Clerk Beth Robinson.

The pre-filed resolutions will appear on the Legislature’s docket for formal introduction and vote at a later date.
