The Big Horn County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 4 to transfer unsold tax-deeded property to the Town of Lodge Grass.
Deputy County Attorney Heather M. Ready told the board the parcels did not sell at the county's tax deed sale and recommended transferring them to the Town of Lodge Grass. Commissioner George Real Bird III moved to approve the property transfer of the two Lodge Grass lots; Commissioner Larry Vandersloot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The meeting packet included quitclaim deed language and property descriptions. One deed conveys Lots 9 and 10, Block 4 of the Original Townsite of Lodge Grass. The packet also includes additional quitclaim deed language for other Lodge Grass parcels described later in the attachments (including the north 65 feet of Lot 4 and Lots 5 and 6, Block 1, Original Townsite). The deeds indicate return-to addresses for the Town of Lodge Grass and contain standard transfer and realty transfer certificate forms as required by Montana law.
The board approved the transfers in open session; the clerk's office will record the deeds and the Realty Transfer Certificate as required.
