Charles Mix County commissioners approve annual report, SD Department of Health contract and other routine items

The Charles Mix County Board of Commissioners approved several routine administrative items on Feb. 19, 2026. The board approved the county’s 2025 Annual Report (motion by Vice Chairman Kory Standy, second by Commissioner Nick Stotz) and unanimously approved the county’s 2026 contract with the South Dakota Department of Health (motion by Nick Stotz, second by Kory Standy).
The board also approved a letter to Randall Community Water District clarifying that 402nd Avenue in Rouse Township is an existing county road and that no road-vacating documentation has been filed. The motion to approve the letter was made by Commissioner Stotz and seconded by Vice Chairman Standy.
Highway Superintendent Doug Cimpl reviewed bridge repairs, a requested Golden West right-of-way issue, the Wahehe bridge and resurfacing work on Geddes Oil Road; the board took no formal highway actions at this meeting. Auditor Toby Qualm from the Department of Legislative Audit presented the 2023–2024 audit and fielded public questions; the minutes record public inquiries but do not list their content.
The board set next regular meetings for 10:00 a.m. on March 12 and March 26 at the Courthouse and adjourned at 12:17 p.m.
