Coon Rapids council approves plans, orders bids for Project 26-2; no assessments for property owners

City Engineer Mark Hansen told the council there will be no special assessments on property owners for this project; Councilmember Sean Novack said he had received calls and emails from constituents about potential assessments and welcomed the clarification. Hansen also said staff would coordinate the construction timeline with contractors to reduce conflicts with school-bus traffic.
The resolution was moved by Councilmember Peter Butler and seconded by Councilmember Christopher Geisler; the motion passed unanimously.
