Board appoints Stephanie Bazan to contracts committee and nominates district member to waterfront advisory board
Summary
The Parks and Recreation Board filled a committee vacancy by appointing Stephanie Bazan to the Contracts and Concessions Committee and approved a nomination to the South Central Waterfront Advisory Board to be forwarded to City Council.
During the May 19 meeting the board considered two personnel items.
For agenda item 5 the board considered filling a vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Board Contracts and Concessions Committee. Board member Villalobos moved to appoint Stephanie Bazan to the vacancy; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote while present members raised hands in favor.
For agenda item 6 the board solicited nominations for the Parks seat on the South Central Waterfront Advisory Board. Board member Akul Amara was nominated and the board voted unanimously to forward that nomination to City Council for approval.
Both decisions were procedural appointments; staff reminded members that final appointment to the advisory board requires City Council action.
