The board approved a range of additional contract and service items presented by the Teaching & Learning and Operations committees, including yearbook agreements with Varsity and Jostens, contracted services for arts and music clinicians, dual-enrollment and MOU revisions with Calhoun Community College, and venue and travel agreements for school events and trips.
On safety staffing, the board approved an agreement with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to provide 51 Student Resource Officers for Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026. The agreement includes a clause that for each unfilled SRO position the Board will receive an annual credit of $54,740.40, prorated and applied quarterly; the recommendation was presented for approval subject to any changes and final execution by the superintendent.
Most motions at the meeting were adopted without opposition. The Teaching & Learning committee package carried with one abstention recorded: Mrs. Carita Venable abstained on that committee vote. Other contract approvals were recorded as unanimously approved.
