The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education unanimously approved a series of procurement contracts and interinstitutional agreements at its Feb. 2, 2026 meeting.
The board voted to purchase HVAC equipment for Hillcrest High School from Trane through the OMNIA Cooperative Program for $337,768. The board had previously declared the project an emergency at its Dec. 9, 2025 meeting. Randy Smalley moved to approve the purchase and Lance Bailey seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved a certified bid and contract with Standard Roofing of Montgomery, Inc., for $45,000 to perform a partial reroof at Vance Elementary. Bill Squires moved and Lance Bailey seconded; the motion was approved unanimously.
A deduct change order of $5,090.46 from N. C. Morgan Construction for work at Duncanville Middle School was approved as presented. Randy Smalley moved and Lance Bailey seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
On postsecondary partnerships, the board approved a Dual Enrollment for Dual Credit Agreement with Snead State Community College and a separate Dual Enrollment Agreement with the University of Alabama UA Early College, both intended to allow eligible high school students to earn concurrent high school and college credits.
