Nelson County sets minimum sale prices for seven tax-foreclosure properties

At an Oct. 28 special meeting commissioners set minimum sale prices for seven tax-foreclosure properties (five returned Oct. 1, 2022 in Petersburg and two earlier properties) and approved estimated taxes due for a 2009 foreclosure ahead of the Nov. 15 county sale.
At a special meeting on Oct. 28 the Nelson County Board of Commissioners reviewed tax-foreclosure properties returned to county ownership and set minimum sale prices for seven parcels that will be offered at the county sale on Nov. 15, 2022.
The five properties returned to the county as of Oct. 1, 2022 are all located in the City of Petersburg. Commissioners also discussed a 2021 property in the City of Michigan and a 2009 tax-foreclosure property in Sarnia Township. The board approved setting minimum sale prices on the 2021 and 2022 properties and approved determining the 2009 property’s minimum sale price based on taxes due for 2007–2009 and estimated taxes for 2022; the commission also approved the estimated taxes due on the 2009 foreclosure for the current year of 2022.
These actions were recorded as unanimous motions by the commission during the Oct. 28 meeting; the minutes indicate the public sale is scheduled for Nov. 15, 2022.
