Nelson County auditor resigns; interim named and county offers job to Nathan Parks

Nelson County Auditor Jenny Wigen submitted a letter of resignation that the Board of Commissioners accepted with regret at the Oct. 10 meeting. The board moved to appoint Robyn Ward as interim auditor; the appointment passed on a roll-call vote.
Commissioners reviewed resumes and voted to interview three candidates: Karen Anderson, Kelsey Joy and Nathan Parks. At a special meeting on Oct. 18 the board interviewed the three candidates and moved to offer the Nelson County Auditor position to Nathan Parks, contingent on an acceptable background check and credit report; that motion passed unanimously.
The board also authorized temporary pay increases while the auditor vacancy is filled: Robyn Ward will receive an additional $440 per week and Lori Schuh an additional $110 per week for interim duties.
