Nelson County approves consultant, awards bids, signs financing and clears two parcel tax/assessment errors

The board accepted KLJ as the engineering consultant on project SC-CVD-3200(050), PCN 23776 (motion by Commissioner Cameron Swenson, seconded by Commissioner Aaron Mork), and awarded the low bid from Tolna Plumbing & Heating for recovery heat at the Michigan shop for $3,242.14 (motion by Commissioner Aaron Mork, seconded by Commissioner Steve Forde). Both motions passed unanimously by roll call.
The commission also reviewed and signed a financing contract from KS State Bank to fund new motor grader purchases after Commissioner Aaron Mork moved and Commissioner Cameron Swenson seconded the motion to sign the contract; the board approved the financing by roll call.
Nelson County Auditor Nathan Parks presented two parcels assessed in error. The commission removed the special assessment on parcel 24-0000-07198-000 at the Nelson County Water Board's request (moved by Commissioner Cameron Swenson, seconded by Commissioner Aaron Mork) and removed taxes on parcel 02-0001-11221-000 (moved by Commissioner Steve Forde, seconded by Commissioner Cameron Swenson). Both motions were recorded as passing unanimously.
The board approved the county's financial statements (motion by Commissioner Steve Forde, seconded by Commissioner Mike Haugland) and moved to pay all bills at the month's second meeting (motion by Commissioner Steve Forde, seconded by Commissioner Aaron Mork); both motions passed on roll call votes with all members voting yes.
