Nelson County commissioners unanimously approve opioid settlement, CAD agreement and multiple road and policing actions

Nelson County commissioners on March 21 unanimously approved a series of administrative actions including signing an opioid settlement agreement and a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) agreement, and took a number of road- and public-safety related steps.
The board voted to sign the Opioid Settlement Agreement (moved by Commissioner Steve Forde; seconded by Commissioner Cameron Swenson), and to sign the CAD Agreement (moved by Commissioner Aaron Mork; seconded by Commissioner Mike Haugland). Commissioners also approved advertising for bids on culverts and gravel to be opened April 18 at 8:30 a.m. (motion by Commissioner Cameron Swenson; second by Commissioner Steve Forde) and approved the County and Township Cost Share Agreement (motion by Commissioner Aaron Mork; second by Commissioner Cameron Swenson).
Commissioners approved a Resolution of Necessity for the Central Williams snag-and-clear project (moved by Commissioner Aaron Mork; seconded by Commissioner Mike Haugland) after concerns about the project had been raised earlier in the meeting. The board also approved contracts to cities for policing (moved by Commissioner Aaron Mork; seconded by Commissioner Cameron Swenson) following an update on sheriff business.
The board approved abatements for parcel 150001-23788-000 (motion by Commissioner Steve Forde; seconded by Commissioner Cameron Swenson) and unanimously voted to pay all listed bills (motion by Commissioner Mike Haugland; seconded by Commissioner Aaron Mork).
All recorded motions were approved by unanimous roll call vote of the five commissioners present: Chairman Cody Johnson and Commissioners Steve Forde, Aaron Mork, Mike Haugland and Cameron Swenson.
The county will open bids for culverts and gravel on April 18, 2023, at 8:30 a.m.; the NDSU Extension staffing request was tabled for further consideration at the April 4 meeting.
