Bay Minette Council approves routine resolutions, hears Alabama Power on right-of-way survey

At its Jan. 18 meeting, the City Council of the City of Bay Minette approved its consent agenda, including the Jan. 3, 2022 meeting minutes, and authorized payables totaling $145,773.00. Councilmember William Taylor moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilmember Pete Sellers seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also unanimously adopted several resolutions: Resolution 0122-02 permitting the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce to use the John F. Rhodes Civic Center for its annual meeting; Resolution 0122-03 recognizing the city’s telecommunicators and supporting efforts to classify telecommunicators as first responders; Resolution 0122-04 adding to the city’s list of depositories; Resolution 0122-05 approving Leadership Baldwin County sponsorship; and Resolution 0122-06 granting a reduced rental rate for the Tom Kelly Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation to use the civic center. Each resolution was moved, seconded, and carried with no recorded dissent.
Mayor Wills recognized Jeff Schmitz of Alabama Power, who informed the Council that "one resident requested a survey to locate property lines. After the survey, all necessary work will be completed on City right of way." The council also announced that previously discussed North White Avenue right-of-way improvements should continue for utilization by the requesting property owner and tenant.
