Bay Minette City Council approves $502,763.77 in payables and three resolutions

The Bay Minette City Council met Feb. 7, 2022, at City Hall and voted unanimously to approve payables of $502,763.77 and to adopt three resolutions affecting local partnerships, facility use and school athletics.
Mayor Robert A. Wills called the meeting to order, gave the invocation and Councilmember Mike Phillips led the Pledge of Allegiance. After roll call established that the mayor and five councilmembers were present, the council moved quickly through routine business.
Councilmember William Taylor moved to approve the consent agenda, which included the minutes of the Jan. 18, 2022 council meeting and work session; Councilmember Pete Sellers seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Wills then asked for a motion to approve payables in the amount of $502,763.77. Councilmember Mike Phillips moved to approve and Councilmember Matt Franklin seconded; the council voted unanimously to authorize payment of the listed accounts.
Under the mayor’s report the council considered three resolutions. Resolution 0222-01, a memorandum of agreement with Coastal Alabama Community College, was moved by Councilmember Matt Franklin, seconded by Councilmember Pete Sellers and adopted unanimously.
Resolution 0222-02 authorized the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce to use the John F. Rhodes Civic Center for its Home Show on April 15–16, 2022. Councilmember Pete Sellers moved to approve; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
Resolution 0222-03, supporting the Baldwin County High School softball program, was moved by Councilmember Matt Franklin, seconded by Councilmember William Taylor and approved unanimously.
Mayor Wills opened the floor for council and citizen comments; no one addressed the council. Councilmember Mike Phillips moved to adjourn; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the meeting was adjourned. The minutes were attested by Tammy Smith, City Administrator/Finance Director.
